Self Care while Social Distancing

Like the rest of the world, we’ve had to rain check our Spring Break plans and Summer adventures until further notice. The shop is freshly stocked with SS20 arrivals but we're putting a pause on packing to exercise more self-care, as we do our part to ‘flatten the curve’ and exercise social distancing. While things may be up in the air for the time being, it’s important to relax, remain calm, and stay patient as we all focus on the wellbeing of ourselves and our communities.

Ashley – “I always start my day with an immunity boosting ginger shot. Lately I’ve been trying to increase my liquid intake as well as my vitamin intake with supplements and more fresh fruits and vegetables. If I’m feeling stressed for any reason or just need a moment to myself, I pick out a good book, my favorite wine, and run a bubble bath using the calming sandalwood scented Maison Louis Marie No. 04 Body & Hand Wash. I like to finish with the luxurious No. 04 Body oil as a bonus to myself.”


Emily – “My self care go-to is a hot bath with lavender essential oils- to help me feel relaxed and refreshed. Beforehand, I like to lather on the Noto Botanics Resurface Scrub for a cleansing facial and light my favorite incense to create a calming environment. Comfort is key- so I always prefer to throw on my coziest pair of sweatpants and Anine Bing sweatshirt. My ideal self care night isn’t complete without a cup of Yogi echinacea tea and current Netflix addiction.


Josie – “Self care for me recently has meant a lot of Spring cleaning- specifically sorting out my closet and rearranging my space- because it helps to clear my head and make me feel somewhat accomplished. It also means more snuggles with my fur babies and finally catching up on movies I’ve been wanting to see. Before bed, I like to turn on white noise sleeping sounds to help me fall and stay asleep. The Calm app works wonders!”


Sara – “Even on days when it’s hard to set aside time for self care, I try to fit in a 45 minute workout so I can clear my head and sort my thoughts. Sundays are my favorite because it’s when I revitalize and restore my skin with a face mask. I always sleep with my silk pillowcase from Slip because it keeps my hair frizz free. Paired with the Slip night mask and I get the best sleep.”


Malina – “Moving is my self care therapy. I typically plan for a few group exercise classes a week, but lately I’ve realized the importance of daily walks and getting fresh air. I love at home facials and taking the extra time to add a few special treatments into my nightly skin routine. Also, fresh bedding- Is anything better than clean, crisp sheets?”
