Moving Spaces

Downtown Little Rock has been our home for the last two and a half years. It has been a place of beginnings, community, and growth for our business. However, with that growth comes a necessity for transition and expansion. Which is why we have decided to relocate our brick-and-mortar.

BEIGE opened its doors in the heart of downtown Little Rock on August 20, 2015 - when owner, Ashley Peeples, saw a need in the market for a contemporary women’s boutique. Since then, BEIGE has evolved into a concept boutique offering selections for both men and women, as well as developed a global customer base through our e-commerce store. The growth of our online store has created a need for more space to run our website operations and host the extra stock we need. Which is why we've decided to relocate our storefront to an area where we will be able to facilitate this, as well as better cater to our local customer. The new BEIGE storefront will be on Kavanaugh Boulevard in the Heights of Little Rock - surrounded by a variety of local businesses that we are excited to be neighbors with.

The transition to a new location gives Ashley the opportunity to exercise her passion for interior design. I met with her to get her feedback on the new location.

“I really liked the open feel of the space,” she explains. “As far as the design aspect goes, I definitely stuck with the original minimal feel of the store. However, I wanted this one to be its own location. I pulled a lot of inspiration from the hotels and shops that we go to when we are in New York for market. We stay at 11 Howard when we go, and I love their monochromatic scheme. Some of my favorite stores are modern, but they also have traditional aspects in the design - which I feel makes them more inviting. I did warm up this space a bit - with arched doorways, raw linen fabrics, and soft colors. The new location is definitely going to feel very homey. I want our customers to feel invited and comfortable when they visit.”

Ashley collaborated with local interior designer, Jill White, on the project. Her goal was to stay true to the store’s basic concept of minimalism.

“There are no other stores like this in Arkansas,” says White. “Ashley’s minimalist approach is refreshing. When designing the space we wanted to keep it clean and make sure that the displays were simple so they highlight the clothes in the store. People want to come in, clearly see the product you are selling, and not be overwhelmed. I think that the neutral color palette, openness, and natural lighting will definitely help with that.”

Our new location’s grand opening will be on Thursday May 17th from 6-8, and will be open for normal business hours the following day. For the grand opening, we are partnering up with our brands and new neighbors to give away swag bags to the first 50 customers. Boulevard Bread Co. will be catering the event, and we will have cocktails for our of age guests. Last but not least, we will be releasing our BEIGE Edition VI lookbook at our grand opening. We can’t wait to share all of the new and exciting changes with our customers - stay tuned for updates!
